In November 2025, Blessings in a Backpack celebrated a major milestone with The Dale Jr. Foundation, our longtime partner in helping children stay nourished on weekends.

For 15 years and counting, The Dale Jr. Foundation has provided more than $1 million in support and helped create over 100,000 hunger-free weekends. That’s 100,000 weekends when children have reliable food to fuel their learning, play, and growth.

Revving Up Support

Since 2011, The Dale Jr. Foundation has made an impact through hands-on school events, local partnerships, and creative fundraising campaigns, including initiatives tied to NASCAR weekends that engaged fans nationwide. At Jackson Park Elementary School in North Carolina, more than 250 students receive Blessings Bags each week during the 2025–26 school year, giving families dependable food and students the energy to thrive.

“Our students look forward to receiving their ‘Blessings Bags’ each week,” said Principal Will Gibson.

At Shepherd Elementary School, families facing extended weekends with limited access to food received bags that offered nourishment and reassurance. Teachers report that the program helps children stay energized, engaged, and ready to learn while providing families with peace of mind.

“It has become a tradition that students look forward to each week,” said one Shepherd Elementary teacher. “The Blessings program gives our staff and students some peace of mind and ensures their needs are met.”

This milestone was made possible by The Dale Jr. Foundation and the fans who rally behind its mission. Through fundraising, volunteering, and sharing the cause on social media, their supporters have helped us expand our reach across the country, and for that we are forever grateful.
