GM Foundation donates $10,000 to Blessings in a Backpack through Community Grants Program

GMFoundationlogoThe GM Foundation is donating $50,000 to four nonprofit organizations in the Pontiac and Lake Orion communities through Community Grants program.

The grant presentations were made this morning during an open house event at General Motors’ Pontiac Metal Center. Jim Quick, Orion Assembly and Pontiac Metal Center plant manager, presented the grants on behalf of GM Foundation. The grants to these organizations and institutions will make these communities even greater places to work, live and grow.

“GM Foundation funds will help to improve quality of life in our local communities,” said Jim Quick. “Total appreciation to today’s recognized organizations for keeping philanthropic and community efforts in Orion and Pontiac.”

Through the GM Foundation’s Community Grants program, Orion Assembly, Pontiac Metal Center, Pontiac Powertrain Headquarters and, Pontiac Customer Care and Aftersales will support the following organizations and community programs:
