Louisville Golf Classic Tees Up to Feed Kids
The first tee kicked off a fun and meaningful day on the golf course! At the 8th Annual Louisville Golf Classic, presented by Kroger, 96 golfers came together to celebrate both connection and purpose—raising funds to provide hunger-free weekends for students at Frayser Elementary.
From the first swing to the final putt, the event was filled with friendly competition, great food, and community spirit—all supporting the mission to feed kids in Louisville. Players enjoyed exclusive swag, including Shady Rays sunglasses, a charcuterie spread from Kroger and Murray’s Cheese Shop, and a bourbon tasting led by Chris Blandford, Kroger’s Adult Beverage Expert. The Chick-fil-A team earned the prize for most donations, while Bobby Flynn took home the top raffle prize—a Crosley jukebox valued at $2,000—ending the day with excitement and smiles all around.
The Louisville Golf Classic was powered by generous sponsors and partners who share the mission of supporting local kids. Kroger, the presenting sponsor, was recognized for its leadership and deep commitment to hunger-free weekends. Sysco, the National Event Series Sponsor, provides vital support for Blessings in a Backpack events nationwide, including this one. Supporting sponsor Porcini Farmer Children’s Foundation, along with partner sponsors Glick Companies, Shady Rays, Chick-fil-A, and ISCO Industries, each played a key role in making the day a success.
As golfers packed up their clubs and the day came to an end, gratitude could be felt all around—not just for a great day on the course, but for the impact that would ripple far beyond it. Together, the Louisville community turned a day of play into a powerful act of giving, ensuring that children return to school nourished, focused, and ready to learn.
