Kids Feeding Kids

Kids feeding kids is a hands-on service opportunity where students lead the charge in preventing weekend hunger for their peers. Blessings in a Backpack provides the tools for youth to learn about food insecurity and then become part of the solution.
Student-athletes, school clubs, youth ministries, National Honor Society chapters, and entire grade levels participate by packing bags of food, organizing fundraisers, managing inventory, leading volunteer teams, and raising awareness about weekend hunger in their community.
Kids feeding kids is a reminder that young people can make a difference. By starting a Blessings in a Backpack Club at your school, you join One Team for All Kids—a nationwide network of volunteers and supporters who helped provide more than 2.7 million hunger-free weekends last year.

Weekend hunger affects millions of children across the United States. When students lack consistent access to nutrition, it affects their learning, well-being, and ability to thrive.
Blessings in a Backpack helps fill the weekend nutrition gap by ensuring kids leave school on Friday with food they can count on. When youth lead this work, the impact is even greater—they build leadership, teamwork, and empathy while directly supporting their peers.
Before getting started, we encourage students and advisors to learn about childhood hunger and explore Blessings’ mission. Visit our website or browse our Impact Report to see stories, photos, and the difference programs like yours make nationwide.
