Fun is the Whole Point 0.5K with Elegance Living

Thank you for participating in the Fun is the Whole Point 0.5K benefiting Blessings in a Backpack.

Blessings in a Backpack provides weekend food for school-aged children across America who might otherwise go hungry.

When the bell rings on Friday afternoon, kids leave school with a backpack full of food for the weekend — many kids call it their “blessings.” The food keeps hunger pangs at bay until they return on Monday morning. But the impact goes beyond that.

Children who have enough to eat do better in school and feel cared for by their community. And the need grows every day.

How You can support Blessings in a Backpack

Volunteer

1. Write positive note cards for kids’ backpacks.

These note cards will be attached to the bags of food for the children and will provide them with positive words of encouragement over the weekend. They can say anything from “Have a Great Day!” to “You are loved” you can get creative! All note cards must be nondenominational and age-appropriate. Click here for Notecard Do’s and Don’ts!

The note cards can be printed on any color paper you would like. We recommend printing on card stock or construction paper that holds up a bit better. Click here for our printable note card template to get started.

Once you’re finished making the cards, please send them to the following address:

**Please print and complete this contact sheet and include it in the package when shipping your cards!**

2. Volunteer to make “thank you” calls to community supporters.

Contribute

1. Donate to feed kids this school year.

As a Blessings in a Backpack donor, you help make hunger-free weekends a reality for children facing food insecurity.

2. Leave a legacy to feed kids in the future.

Some supporters might choose this option so they can leave a lasting contribution without affecting current financial security and freedom.

3. Host a Facebook fundraiser.
