The 12th annual Hope for the Holidays event with The Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation took place on Thursday, November 30 from 6-8pm at TPC Sawgrass to pack more than 6,000 food bags for food-insecure families this holiday season

For the 12th year in a row, the Foundation set up a volunteer experience for the community to pack bags with their families for children who are identified as food insecure in Duval, Clay and St Johns Counties.

This hands-on opportunity secures a meal of canned ham, green beans, corn muffins, mashed potatoes, stuffing, macaroni, rice, canned corn, oatmeal, applesauce, and candy canes for children who might otherwise go hungry during the long holiday break.

They packed more than 6,000 holiday bags with 66,000+ food items and 4,546 of those bags were  distributed to Blessings in a Backpack students.

Because of the community’s overwhelming support, they were able to pack all of the bags in under one hour with families of all ages including the Bolles, Episcopal and Nease lacrosse teams, UNF softball team, local high school cheerleaders and more.

ABOUT THE JIM & TABITHA FURYK FOUNDATION: The Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation was created in 2010 to help children and families in need. This Jacksonville based non-profit partners with charities across North Florida to provide project-specific funding and essential programming. The annual Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS presented by Circle K, created to raise charity dollars to support these partnerships, brings the community together to increase awareness and funding for programs that support education, healthcare, nutrition, and safety for at-risk children and families.

The Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation is dedicated to bringing our community together to improve the lives of the children and families who live on the First Coast through each of these programs and many more.
