Create Positive Note Cards

Age: 5 and up
Time Commitment: One hour

Help spread positivity and encouragement to the children we serve! Create positive note cards with words of encouragement for children to take home over the weekend.

Did you know that 78% of children who receive Blessings in a Backpack food say they feel cared for by their community? That’s you! Through this impactful volunteer opportunity, you’ll create note cards with uplifting messages for the kids we serve. The cards will be attached to the weekend food bags, offering kids words of support and kindness during their time away from school.

From simple messages like “Have a Great Day!” to “You’re a Good Friend,” feel free to get creative with your words of encouragement. Remember, all notes should be inclusive, nondenominational, and suitable for children of all ages. For tips on creating the perfect note card, click here for our Notecard Do’s and Don’ts.

You can print the note cards on any color paper, but we recommend using sturdy materials like card stock, index cards, or construction paper for durability. Use stickers and draw colorful pictures on the note cards. Get creative — the kids will love it!
