A Day of Blessings: Minnesota Twins Visit Tice Elementary Students

A great afternoon occurred on May 26, 2023, for our Blessings students at Tice Elementary in Fort Meyers, Florida! For baseball’s Major League Day of Service, the Minnesota Twins sent their players to Tice Elementary to meet with the students and hand out Friday bags of weekend food.

All the 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students received a classroom visit from the team and could ask questions and even get autographs! The students were delighted to hear from the players where they come from and what position they play. But most important, the players instilled the value of learning and being a good student.

The Director of player education, Amanda Daley, and the Director of Florida Business, Mark Weber, were present for the afternoon. After the players met with the classrooms, they proceeded to several places in the school to pass out the Blessings food. It allowed them to speak with children and see the Blessings in a Backpack program in action!
