KeHe Cares Foundation Packs Food for 4,000 Children Nationwide
KeHE Cares Foundation partnered with Blessings in a Backpack to impact the lives of children who might otherwise go hungry and its employees.
In 2022, the national food distributor hosted five volunteer packing events at warehouses across the nation — Chino, California; Elkton, Florida; Goodyear, Arizona; Portland, Oregon; and Stockton, California. One packing was part of a warehouse-location grand opening celebration!
KeHe also generously donated items such as Annie’s Mac & Cheese Cups, Kodiak Cups, Country Archer Beef Jerky, Bob’s Red Mill Oatmeal Cups, and Mike’s Mighty Good Craft Ramen, among others, to go in the Blessings bags. These natural, organic, specialty, and fresh food products offered healthy, yummy options for the kids.
KeHe shared that they love working with Blessings in a Backpack because it gives employees who typically transport the food an opportunity to see the products’ quality as they pack bags. Employees then went above and beyond and volunteered to deliver food to the 11 partner schools and community organizations. In all, employees packed 4,000 bags for children nationwide.
“It makes the day-to-day job more personal.”
Blessings volunteers who attended the packing events in person shared their appreciation. They described KeHe as “life-savers.” We couldn’t agree more!
Thank you, KeHe Cares Foundation, for partnering with Blessings in a Backpack to prevent weekend hunger in healthy, delicious, and sustainable ways.
