Meet Mission Ambassador, Kyla!

Meet, Kyla!👋

“Hi! My name is Kyla, and I am a rising senior at Adlai E. Stevenson High School. I love to write, bake, and hang out with my family and friends, and of course, help out and volunteer for Blessings in a Backpack! I got involved with the mission ambassador program as I believe it is essential for teens my age to get involved with the Blessings in a Backpack program and make a difference in their community. My hope by being able to aid with social media is that we can attract younger teens to the program to help volunteer and better understand the impact of food insecurity.

For me, it is so important that every kid has an equal chance at education and to be the best learner they can be. Blessings in a Backpack is doing an excellent job of giving the kids involved better opportunities to learn and grow as students, which is incredibly important. Some things I’ve done in the program are host packing events with family and friends, create a fundraising page for my communities program of Blessings, help fundraise for #WorldHungerDay and attend a Chicago packing event with my dad. I am trying to connect with my NHS program and student body to get my peers more involved!”

Blessings in a Backpack Mission Ambassadors are high school or college students looking for volunteer/service hours, willing to participate in campaigns and post on social media, as well as have a passion for ending childhood hunger. By becoming an ambassador, you can be the change that we need within our world today to end childhood hunger.
