Overwhelmed by Blessings Bestowed in This Community

Overwhelming, and overwhelmed. Sometimes you just find yourself getting overpowered by numbers, thoughts, and emotions. That would accurately describe what I saw and felt last Thursday while picking up tubs and delivering them to several local schools.

The tubs — 30-gallon storage containers — were filled with packages of food to be distributed the next day to children taking part in the Blessings in a Backpack program. When asked a month earlier if I would help, I didn’t give it much thought. I figured it wouldn’t be that big a deal.
