PGA Players: Champions on and off the Course

PGA Players: Champions on and off the Course

Last week, we supported our incredible friends at the PGA Championship, including Justin Thomas, Jason Day, Justin Rose, Charley Hoffman, and Matt Wallace. Since 2010, these athletes have been champions in raising awareness and providing support for childhood hunger nationwide. We welcomed them to Louisville, the heart of Blessings in a Backpack’s home and national headquarters.

On Friday morning, the PGA of America Governance Team, VIP officers and spouses, and PGA of America Board Members and their special guests joined us in Louisville for a special packing event. Together, they packed 500 bags of weekend nutrition, filled with shelf-stable food, which were delivered to a local school, Camp Taylor Elementary. Each bag was packed in a special PGA of America drawstring backpack. This event honored the 2024 PGA Championship and 2-time Champion Justin Thomas and the Justin Thomas Foundation.

Saint Xavier High School, Justin’s alma mater, contributed applesauce and shelf-stable milk through their Social Justice class. This addition enhanced the nutritional value of the bags. This collaborative effort showcased the power of community and the impact of sports partnerships in supporting our mission to end childhood hunger.

Thank you to everyone who participated and made a difference in the lives of children in need. Your dedication and generosity ensure that no child goes hungry on the weekends.
