Ravens Safety Kyle Hamilton Tackles Childhood Hunger with Preston Automotive Group
Ravens Safety Kyle Hamilton and Preston Automotive Group teamed up with Blessings in a Backpack. For the 2023-2024 football season, Preston Automotive Group donated $13,783 to Blessings for every tackle made by Hamilton which will feed close to 100 children every weekend of next school year.
The partnership aims to raise awareness and funds for the critical issue of childhood hunger in Greater Baltimore. As a prominent figure in the community, Hamilton and Preston Automotive Group are committed to making a tremendous impact on the lives of local kids. In the previous football season, Preston Automotive Group donated $9,940 for every tackle Hamilton made, supporting 75 children locally in the Blessings program.
To celebrate, Hamilton and Preston Automotive Group visited the Brooklyn O’Malley Boys & Girls Club on Tuesday, May 21, where they spent time with the kids and presented a check to support the Blessings program, alongside several Ravens fans.
“Kyle Hamilton is an exceptional individual who embodies the values of our company,” said Rob Childs, Chief Marketing Officer at Preston Automotive Group. “We’re proud to support the Baltimore area and the mission of Blessings in a Backpack in our local communities. We’re thrilled to be partnering with Kyle on this initiative,” added Chris Marks, Chief Operating Officer at Preston Automotive Group.
The consequences of childhood hunger can be far-reaching, affecting not only a child’s physical health but also their emotional and cognitive development. As shared by Beth Bush, director of athletic & strategic partnerships at Blessings in a Backpack, “Kids can’t be kids when they’re hungry. The consequences of childhood hunger are much more than a growling stomach: fatigue, the inability to concentrate, mood swings, and depression. We’re grateful for this creative collaboration through Preston Automotive Group and have loved cheering on Kyle from the sidelines,” added Bush. “Preventing weekend hunger to create a healthier future for Baltimore-area kids with the Brooklyn O’Malley Boys & Girls Club is going to be amazing.”
“One of the dire challenges facing many of our Club members is food insecurity. We guarantee each member eats a snack and a hot meal every day they come to the Club, but what about when they leave our Blue Doors?” said Kyra Nichols, Club Manager for Brooklyn O’Malley Boys & Girls Club. “Thanks to our continued partnership with Blessings in a Backpack, we can face this challenge head-on by providing our kids with healthy, delicious food to take home and have at hand when they need it. Thank you to Preston Automotive Group and Kyle Hamilton for joining us in the fight to combat childhood hunger in our communities.”
